  • check out www.stripesandolives.etsy.com

etsy.com is a website that people can buy and sell all handmade items.  the first time i found out about etsy, i really wanted to post up the things i've made... but never had the time to do it.  for a while now, i've been making wedding invitations and other types of stationary for friends as a favor.  i think it's about time i got paid to do this.

for the time being, it's just wedding invitations, baby shower invitation, thank you cards, etc.
any of these cards can be personalized, can be printed on any light colored paper and i can even create new ones for new customers :0)

i'd like to expand one day to sell baby items.  i have several ideas that i'm still working on.

so please, feel free to spread the word.

  • april fool's day

all three of us had a doctor's appointment.  nothing serious... just a regular check up.
first stop was tyler's 6 month visit.  everything is normal, although he may have some food allergies.  so for now, he'll just have boring cereal and not introduce new foods for a while.  because of this, his 6 month vaccines have been put on hold.  we have to go back in couple of weeks for his shots!

tyler waiting at tony's doctor's appointment - he can sit by himself for a short period of time

next stop was my doctor's appointment.  i was in the doctor's appointment for a while, spent most of my time just waiting.  appointment itself was less than 10 min.  while i was in the doctor's office, tony and tyler stayed in the car.  and since it was april fool's day, i played a little trick on tony.
i walked to the car and opened the door and said "i'm pregnant!" with the biggest smile.   tony looked at me so stunned and said "holy shnicky! seriously????"... then i bursted out laughing... april fools!
fortunately, he was a good sport and wasn't upset.

after tony's appointment, we went to bobby's burger palace and had some yummy burgers and sweet potato fries.  and bobby flay was there!!!  he was actually a lot shorter than i thought.

    that's bobby flay!

  • So, I always thought this sort of thing NEVER happens to me.... but it did :)

Hubby and I got up early, (well, i didn't sleep because i kept thinking that i forgot to pack something) to catch our 6:40 flight out of newark to LA.  with out bags packed we headed to the airport at 4am.  this is where the "fun" begins.  we waited in line to check in with our 2 large suitcases.  it was finally our turn.  the lady that checked us in... it was her first day and she had no idea what she was doing.  it took us over 1/2 hour to get checked in - i had a seat, and tony did not.  i was annoyed...

we go through the security check point, our carry on luggage with all baby stuff gets searched.  they took EVERYTHING out.  I had packed this bag carefully so that i can get whatever i might need on the flight.  AND made sure that nothing in the bag was questionable so that we can get through the security check point without any problem.  boy, was i wrong!!!  i was upset by this point.  but i sent tony ahead so that he can possibly get a seat at the gate.  i threw everything back in the bag and headed for the gate.

i get to the gate and tony still did not have a seat on the flight.  i was angry by this point.  i didn't know how i was supposed to fly w/ a baby for the first time.  it was my turn to get on the plane.  i got in line, and the lady says i need to get a new seat b/c i can't sit in an exit row w/ a baby on my lap... even more annoyed, i go back to the counter to get a new seat assignment.  i FINALLY get on the plane.... i find my seat, drop everything and sit.... only to find out 5 minutes later that i had the same seat assignment as another lady.

    i broke down... started crying.

the captain goes back to the counter and give me a new seat... in FIRST CLASS :)

i was just happy to be on the flight, in first class, no less.... then i discovered that tony got on the flight in coach.... who got upgraded to first class as well :)

we didn't sit together.  oh, a few minutes into the flight, i realized i was sitting next to leslie bibb (actress).  it took a while for me to realize it was really her.  i asked if she would switch w/ my hubbsy.... she's obviously not a morning person.  she just brushed me off...

i didn't care at this point.  all three of us got on the flight and got upgraded to first class.

this was tyler's first time flying... and he flew first class.... hehehe....

now, we're in LA.  and it's so nice and warm.... although all the LA people are bundled up while we're in short sleeve.  hehe.... glad to be on vacation.  :)

  • Thank God for the cooler weather.  Sunday and Monday was just unbearable.  It was like sitting in a sauna all day long.  then the cooler weather came :) and feels so much better now.  one less thing to be cranky about.  just 10 more days to go until the baby comes.  I hope that he'll be early... praying every day that my contractions will start and my water will break soon.  but i have a feeling that he might be in there until the due date.  wouldn't mind the last stretch of my pregnancy, only if i can sleep.  there is absolutely no comfortable position to sleep in at this stage of pregnancy.  i know i won't get much sleep once the baby comes.  but at least, the few hours that i do sleep, i can be comfy in my bed, which isn't the case now.
